For once, I found a perfume with these notes that actually smells great on me. I have NEVER found a perfume with notes like this that ACTUALLY sits right on my skin like this one does. unfortunately when I went to spray mine I got an instant headache.. If you can get past the opening notes maybe you will like it. Didn't think I'd like this much and here I am loving it. Then one time I had a bottle go bad on me so I threw it out, and fell in love with Chance by Chanel instead. Make sure not to overdose this, for this is very strong. This perfume is known to last hours and float with you wherever you go. You may want to find someone who has an older bottle and purchase it from them because the newer ones are weak. the logical deduction is that she hates "old people." Why? And, classique is a fragrance for ALL adult women IMHO.
My grandmother actually gave this to me and told me to "give it a try", so I reluctantly did. It's not harsh or tacky, it's elegant and incredibly well crafted. All i could smell was star anise which i hate the smell of. While this is sweeter than I usually enjoy, it is clearly very well done. I will probably try to get a sample to retry several times and then formulate a better opinion. I picked it up again last Christmas for an absurdly low price and got happy spritzing it again. One spray is enough, 2 is the absolute maximum :) I wore this in 2000. He said he smelled like me because my smell faded on to him. When we broke up I would purposely spray inside his car with it when he left his windows down so he would think of me. Just my two cents so don't say I didn't warn you lol!! Also it puzzles me: in my part of the world I don't "smell" elderly people!
Gaultier created a masterpiece and it is a true classic of perfumery! Second - my first impression is not vanilla; it's white soap.
What makes Classique such a modern classic fragrance? Yes, Classique is very powdery, and vanilla-y, and I get the lovely hint of anise in it. I often think tag lines are kitschy and sure enough when I smelled this one I rolled my eyes internally because I do in fact agree that this is "a fragrance that promises pleasure". Good for going to bed with someone but also just good for going to bed.
It feels very vintage (think of glamorous 50's Hollywood) but doesn't really translate dated either. I tested EDT and EDP side by side and preferred the EDT due to it's more pronounced spice and white floral aspects. I'm wearing this one as a switch up from my Angel Muse. I had this perfume years ago because my father loves the JPG cologne and thought it would be a great match for my mother.
I have no clue why I thought there was edt and edp of this frosted glass one.I've been wanting to try this, I finally got my hands on this beautiful fragrance. This smells like french pastry, the one frosted with cream and has a cherry on top. Smells so unique although the white floral note reminds me a lot of Tendre Poison by Dior. So when the saleswoman asked if I was looking for anything... and from deep in the lowest drawer she produced the frosted Classique bottle. But beware: even though it's beautiful soft clouds, it's still sharp, and hyper-sweet. I had the impression it was a striking, loud scent. As it is I feel like Givenchy's Organza has a similar warm, powdery feel without sending me hunting for an epi-pen. The perfume is pretty strong and last a long time so maybe some would say it is for mature ladies but if you spray a little is soft and powdery and good for young girls. Perfume for a beautiful magical woman delicious gourmand feminine and sexy powdery and soft smell like a cake this was my wedding perfume first is smell very fruity. Tested this earlier today and i thought is georgeous.... Not like a typical beachy coconut scent, but more of like a creamy traditional sunscreen (this is just a small component of the scent though..beach isn't what this scent is all about). This is an absolute fall/winter fragrance and I can't wait to wear this. My teacher has a lot of objects for us to copy and do some excercises, and I found this beautiful bottle. This delicious cake is good to wear to parties and to wear on dates if you are single girl. Fruit in this parfum is peach plum juicy and deep mandarin and bergamot. Out of 100 fragrances that I couldn't smell for days, this was the one I wanted to smell again first. Classique is as close to the perfect women's fragrance as I've ever come across. very good projection, just a light spritz on the wrist and I could smell myself walking in the street wrapped by this lovely sent, smelling right on the wrist was a bit soapy but in distance wonderful..... almost 2 hours later I feel a slight nausea and i think is the perfume cause i don't want to smell my wrist anymore :-/... There's also a synthetic grape component to this scent (synthetic in the best way), which I usually associate with jasmine or orange blossom, so that makes sense.A Strongest notes: Sandalwood, Vanilla, Ginger, Orange Blossom I'm going to rephrase my previous review because I seem to have offended some people, which wasn't my intention: Classique is a perfume that has a lot of things I hate: White powdery florals and strong wood notes. It looks like someone forgot it a long time ago, and it still smells! This is very sexy not in provocative way but in a girly way. Then I smell flowers beautiful rose and iris flower. I have to say the first hour of this fragrance is not my favorite though, it smells too much like powdery bar soap but once it settles this is gooood. I remember seeing it in the bathrooms of grown-up beautiful women in the 90's when I was a kid. It's feminine, mysterious, sexy, classy, clean, & slightly powdery. maybe it's too sweet for me, longivity not sure but after 2 hours is a lot lighter, anyway who loves sweet this is sooooo beautiful, i'll have to try this in autumn maybe, for now this will stay in the " i really want this" list :-) 09.6/10.0 - Scent(Top)/Aroma(Topo) 09.6/10.0 - Scent(Mid)/Aroma(Meio) 09.7/10.0 - Scent(Base)/Aroma(Base) 09.6/10.0 - Uniqueness/Singularidade 09.6/10.0 - Longevity/Longevidade 09.5/10.0 - Sillage/Rastro 07.1/10.0 - Versatility/Versatilidade 08.8/10.0 - Presentation/Apresentação -------------------------------------------------------------------- 09.6/10.0 - Total Personal notes! The juice (if you can find a vintage EDT version) is simply outstanding and one of a kind. Amazing how they spiked the old juice with some serious mojo. For some reason this always reminded me of Coca Cola. At first you get a strong vanilla followed by the sweet citrus. Then after about 5 min the bottom note has an interesting slightly bitter ending. I so wanted to love this, but sadly could never make myself get more than a fifth through the bottle. This is not a sour or fresh or sharp or green orange blossom scent. I was afraid the anise will smell too much like licorice, which is not my favorite, but I actually can't really isolate it from the other notes. It goes on a floral with a really odd bandaid harsh note that quickly fades. These are scents my grandmothers (both of them) tended to wear so I generally associate these kinds of smells with that age range, no, it's not a bad thing, it's just not scents I find myself particularily attracted to. As a perfume lover I had to pick it up and tried to get some juice out of it. This perfume goes with pretty mini dresses and cocktail dresses high heels and make up lipstick and nail polish. I used to wear this perfume daily and it is glorious and sensual. Gaultier reminds me of how perfume can really evoke memories of people, places, and experiences...or bad. I'm not sure if the current recipe is a bit sweeter than it was in years past or if my tastes have changed. I remember this fragrance fondly but can't imagine wearing it now.. As this fragrance is timeless ageless and non offensive. When the parfum is dry smell like vanilla and amber. This used to be my signature in my late teens/early 20s and back then I always had lots of compliments about my scent. what did I reach for the instant my sense of smell came back? Based on general comparison ranks among other fragrances. Baseadas em ranques gerais de comparação entre outras fragrâncias. It's just got this awesome cola note in there that makes me keep sniffing my arm. I have yet to find another perfume out there that can fit this tall order. On me, this smelt very synthetic, I could detect orange and musk, but it dried down to a buttery smell that used to turn me right off. People call this very powdery, and that's usually a red flag for me because Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial-type or YSL Manifesto-type powder makes my nose itch rather uncomfortably. I mean it completely morphs into a different scent. The scent does sometimes have a little bit of a playdoh vibe, but it's not overwhelming. Things I don't smell in this: rose, tuberose, CINNAMON? It rises in sweetness (ylang and tuberose without the creaminess and smooth edges). Iris and orchid yes but this is NOT a powdery soft scent. In the dry down, I would call this an ass-kicking fruity floral with some nice musky depth.
